Jerry always has told me that Love is a FACT. It really offended me when he said that when we were first married. A fact not a feeling…I wanted him to FEEEELLLL it. Now, 27 years later: I am so thankful that it is a FACT. And that is how God loves me. It is a TRUTH. He loves me and it is not based on my behavior. I can’t do anything to make him stop loving me. It is His nature. He is Love. He brings discipline into my life…bECAUSE He loves me. He corrects me BECAUSE He loves me. The really cool thing is that it is also a FEELING. A feeling that springs out of a deep and strong assurance of FACT. God is passionately in Love with us. The depths of His Love have yet to be explored. He is MORE than we could ever imagine. And I can imagine quite a lot. He loves me so much that He has taught Jerry to venture into the feeling side of his Love for me and he really does LOVE me…it’s a FACT.

Good reminder. I think that is a really good thing to teach our children. With four, I am constantly reminded that even if I did this whole mommy thing perfect, someone would feel unloved. It is good to point them to Jesus and remind them that I am not perfect, but they have a Father and Savior who is…

It’s good to go to God to fill our love buckets rather than demand that from our husbands. It makes my husband miserable when I do that…and it makes me miserable. When I’m filled up with God’s love…I’m not near as needy. Who wants to be needy? Needy is not a very attractive quality.

I think I am rambling! Great post!

I do measure how I feel loved by some of these things. Ugh! I hate that! Sometimes I have to break out the Psalms and just read them over me. Good reminder. Thanks!
